Synopsis: Backtrace (2018) is a crime thriller directed by Brian A. Metcalf. The film follows a group of criminals who steal a large sum of money, but during the heist, things go wrong, leading to a shootout and a police officer’s death. One of the criminals, MacDonald (Sylvester Stallone), is caught and left with a brain injury, which causes amnesia, preventing him from remembering where he hid the stolen money. Years later, a detective, played by Matthew Modine, is tasked with getting MacDonald’s memory back. With the help of an experimental procedure that involves injecting a serum to trigger his memory, MacDonald’s mind starts to recall details about the heist, but soon, both the police and the remaining criminals are racing against time to find the money. As the tension builds, MacDonald must decide who he can trust while grappling with his past and the dangerous men chasing him.
