Synopsis: In the tense backdrop of the Cold War, Soviet submarine captain Marko Ramius commandeers the Red October, a cutting-edge nuclear vessel equipped with a silent propulsion system. As he steers toward the United States, American intelligence scrambles to determine his intentions. CIA analyst Jack Ryan believes Ramius plans to defect, but with the Soviet navy in pursuit, time is of the essence to prevent a potential conflict.
